Match Body Shape With HIPS Skirts

No matter what your Body Shape is, you can show off your beautiful hips in a flattering and sexy way this spring. The easiest and most feminine way to do this is with a skirt.

Even if you don’t like your hips, there are ways to show them off without making you feel self conscious.

Below, we have compiled together the best skirts for your body shape so all of you can feel comfortable and confident showing the world your lovely hips!

Hourglass Shape

If you were lucky enough to be born with perfect hips on your hourglass figure, or if you work out 3 hours a day to get your shape, by all means darling, show it off!

A high waisted pencil skirt is perfect for you. The nipped in waist will accentuate your small waist and the fitted skirt will show off your gorgeous figure. Keep your skirt knee length. With such a slim-fitting skirt, anything above the knee will take you from classy to trashy.

Apple Shape

If you have an Apple Shaped figure, your chest is larger than your hips. To balance your shape and show off your hips, look for beautiful bubble skirts with a lot of fullness.

Buy skirts in light colors and wear darker colors on top. Remember that light colors like white, pale pink, gray, and other light colors bring attention to whatever area of your body you are wearing them on. Wearing full, light colored skirts will bring attention to your hips and away from your large chest.

Pear Shape

If you are like most women, you probably have a pear shaped figure. This spring, you should purchase skirts that are billowy and full around the hip and thigh area and gets smaller down by your knees. A bubble skirt that nips in at the bottom is perfect.

Wear a loose fitting blouse on top with equal fullness. You don’t want to look like a tent or an overstuffed teddy bear, so choose light-weight fabrics that hang comfortably on your body. Light colors would be most appropriate for your top and darker colors for the bottom.

Round Shape

If you have a round shape, wear a pencil skirt that comes below the knee. You don’t want it to be too fitted, but also avoid buying it too big. You want it to lightly skim the largest part of your lower half.

To help bring the illusion of a waist, wear your shirt on the outside of your skirt with a wide belt across your waistline. A light colored shirt with a dark belt will make it look like you have an hourglass figure, even if you don’t.

Slim or Athletic Shape

If you are naturally slender and have a body shaped like Kate Moss, Ashley Olsen, or Nicole Richie, then you can wear just about anything. You probably don’t have much for hips though.

To be apart of this trend and show off your hips, wear hip enhancing pencil skirts that fit like a glove. Choose a skirt that comes about 2-3 inches above the knee and has a waist that sits right above your hips. Tuck your shirt in and wear a belt so that all eyes are on your hips and slender figure.

Pregnant Shape

If you are pregnant, like me, and want to look great this summer, make sure you invest in at least one good skirt. Look for skirts that are slim fitting and flare out at the knee.

A tulip skirt or a pencil shaped skirt with a ruffle (like the one in the picture) is perfect while you are pregnant. You can still show off your hips, but the flaring out the bottom of the skirt helps to balance out your large tummy.
