Paris Fashion Week 2008 - Christian Dior

Simon and Garfunkel’s Mrs. Robinson played at the beginning and end of the Dior fall show, which was filled with heady '60s notes. Galliano put a daring spin on care-free Camelot shapes by fashioning them out of pony, ostrich, and other exotic skins layered in exuberant hues including fuchsia, melon, and acid blue. Asymmetrical hoop earrings, glittery padded headbands, and sculptural hats were all just as striking. When viewed through Galliano's kaleidoscopic eyes, the Kennedy-era seems a brighter oasis than ever, a vision that will no doubt be appreciated by many of his more optimistic followers.
